Health, wellness and our culture

We really value our people and our culture. In addition to the statistics below, we offer a supportive work environment and encourage a positive work/life balance with flexible work arrangements.  We have a range of personal health and wellbeing support such as vision care, health checks, flu injections, health insurance assistance, childcare allowance, employee assistance programme (EAP) and a fitness assistance contribution.  You also have the opportunity to be involved in social clubs, fitness activities and volunteer opportunities.

In 2017, we had 53 staff working part-time or flexible hours. That’s over 10% of our workforce!
All permanent employees are encouraged to spend 1 day volunteering each year. Teams often do this together

Once a week there is an employee-led boot camp at lunchtime. Just to get there, participants run 2.6k return. That's equivalent to swimming the Cook Strait nearly 6 times each year
We welcomed 87 staff in 2016 with a Powhiri in our very own Wharenui

If you want a cardio workout, there are 252 steps from our building foyer to the top floor
Between 2016 and 2017 we had over 50 staff take formal Te Reo and Tikanga training

In 2017 there were around 88 lunchtime yoga sessions
Our kapa haka group – Te Puna Wai, supported 14 Powhiri’s in 2017 and have a membership of 36 staff.
