Professor John Creedy
Professor John Creedy obtained a B.Sc (Economics with Statistics) from the University of Bristol in 1970 and a BPhil (Economics) from Oxford University in 1972. Professor Creedy was a temporary Lecturer at Durham University 1972-1973, Lecturer in Economics at the University of Reading, England, from 1973-1977, and during 1978 was a Research Officer at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research in London. From 1978 to 1986 he was Professor of Economics at Durham University and Head of Department between 1980 and 1983. In 1986 he was appointed Professor of Economics at Pennsylvania State University, USA. Professor Creedy joined the Department of Economics at The University of Melbourne in December 1987, when he was appointed to The Truby Williams Chair of Economics. He spent November 2001 - February 2004 at the New Zealand Treasury. Professor Creedy was elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (Australia) in 1989. He is also an Associate of the Western Australia Labour Market Research Centre, Associate Editor of the Bulletin of Economic Research, Associate Editor of Review of Income and Wealth, Associate Editor of Australian Journal of Labour Economics, Associate Editor of FinanzArchiv, Associate Editor of Fiscal Studies, Associate Editor of the Bulletin of Economic Research and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Microsimulation.
