The Treasury is sponsoring a category at the Institute of Public Administration New Zealand (IPANZ) Public Sector Excellence Awards.
The annual awards recognise continuous improvements in public administration, reward excellence and highlight significant achievements. Nominations are sought by 1 February 2010 and the awards are presented in June 2010.
Treasury is sponsoring the award for Excellence in Improving Public Value through Business Transformation and is keen to encourage nominations.
The IPANZ awards are open to central government departments, local government organisations, Crown entities, tertiary education institutions in the state sector, Offices of Parliament, SOEs and other Public Finance Act Fourth Schedule Organisations.
The Treasury Award for Excellence in Improving Public Value through Business Transformation seeks to acknowledge some of the people who have responded to the call for “smarter, better public services for less” in the context of the significant fiscal challenge that the Government now faces.
The best of these organisations or individual projects will have thought creatively about different ways of delivering services or carrying out their business. They will have transformed some aspect of their business in order to deliver better services to New Zealanders at a significantly lower cost.
